Subject: EXTRA ITEM: (a) Consideration of "extra" agenda item, and
(b) Consideration of Ratification of a Local Emergency by the Lake County Sheriff/OES Director for the 2024 Late January, Early February Winter Storms

Executive Summary:
(a) This item is being submitted as an "extra" agenda item. The justification for this request to consider an item not on the posted agenda is as follows: This item came to my attention subsequent to the posting of the current agenda and there is a need to take action before the next agenda.

(b) Consideration of Ratification of the Declaration of a Local Emergency by the Lake County Sheriff/OES Director for the 2024 Late January, Early February Winter Storms.

Section 6-5 of the Lake County Code empowers the Director of Emergency Services to declare the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when Lake County is affected or likely to be affected by public calamity. Such a Proclamation shall expire seven days after issuance unless confirmed and ratified by the Lake County Board of Supervisors. On February 5, 2024, the Lake County Sheriff/OES Director declared an emergency due to the 2024 Late January, Early February Winter Storms and ratification by the Lake County Board of Supervisors is needed.
