Subject: Approve First Amendment to Agreement Between County of Lake and Leonard's Hauling and Tractor, for Nuisance Abatement Services, for an Increase of Forty-five Thousand dollars ($45,000), Total Amount not to Exceed Seventy-five Thousand dollars ($75,000), for a Term from July 31, 2023 through June 30, 2024; and Authorize the Chair to Sign.

Executive Summary: The Community Development Department (CDD) - Code Enforcement Division manages the Illegal Dumping and Nuisance Abatement Programs on behalf of the County in the unincorporated areas.

The scope of work involves the towing and abatement contract services related to identified properties by collecting, dismantling, demolishing, packaging, removing, transporting, and properly disposing of solid waste and metal waste to legal disposal sites, and securing the site as directed. It may also include the proper removal of motor vehicles, tires, waste oil, batteries, and similar materials, as needed from private and public property and county roads and state highways throughout the unincorporated County of Lake.

Staff recommends increasing the contract amount beginning July 31, 2023, through June 30, 2024 between the County of Lake and Leonard's Hauling and Tractor to the amount of seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000), for a total not to exceed $75,000. The Community Development Department requests the increase due to the high volume of trailers and waste that has been encountered during abatements.

Funding for this increase will come from nuisance abatement funds.
