Subject:                     Authorize Closure of Community Development Department to the Public on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for All-Staff Training.

 

Executive Summary: We respectfully request the Board’s approval to close the Community Development Department (CDD) to the public on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for an All-Staff training to be held off site at the City of Lakeport Community Center, covering a wide range of topics including policy and procedures, E-Drive organization, and thorough training on upcoming systems updates.

 

While closed we will be training new and veteran staff to ensure all staff members are proficient and knowledgeable in policies and procedures, including but limited to travel policies, Executime policies, inventory tracking, understanding of expectations in the use of the E-Drive to maintain efficient access to documents and file retention, training to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the upcoming launch of the OpenGov system and procedures to ensure a smooth rollout of the new system making sure the staff can inform the public accurately in the use of the OpenGov systems and benefits, training staff on the use of Microsoft Teams platform, and creating a cohesive team environment with team building exercises.

 

The Board’s approval of this request will ensure that staff are providing the most accurate up to date information to the public and establish efficient use of the new OpenGov and Microsoft Teams systems, thorough training and process streamlining, development of a structured use of the E-Drive to ensure efficient use of staff time in research and document creation, and ultimately improve staff morale and overall customer satisfaction.
