Subject: Review and Consideration of increasing the Maximum Monthly County Contribution of Insurance Coverage for Each Employee Enrolled in a County Sponsored Group Medical, Dental, Vision insurance Plan Effective, July 1, 2023
Executive Summary:
On January 31, 2023 during the Annual Governance Workshop your Board requested by your Board options to increase the County contribution toward employees health care. The table below presents three options for your Board’s consideration.

Staff recommends increasing the maximum monthly County contribution for insurance coverage from $1,000 per month to $1,500 per month for each employee enrolled in a County sponsored group medical, dental, vision insurance plan effective, July 1, 2023.
In order to make this benefit available to all employees, staff is recommending your Board authorize the County Administrative Officer to execute resolutions for Management and Confidential Units A and B to increase the maximum monthly County contribution for insurance coverage from $1,000 per month to $1,500 per month for employees who are enrolled in a County sponsored group medical, dental, vision insurance plan, effective July 1, 2023.
Staff also recommends offering this same benefit to all our bargaining units, and your Board authorize the County Administrative Officer to execute side letters to increase maximum monthly County contribution for insurance coverage from $1,000 per month to $1,500 per month for all employees are enrolled in a County sponsored medical, dental, vision insurance plan, effective July 1, 2023 with the following units:
• Units 3, 4, 5 Lake County Employee Association
• Unit 6, Lake County Correctional Officers Association
• Unit 8, Lake County Deputy District Attorney Association
• Unit 10, Lake County Safety Employee Association
This change does not affect bargaining units 17 LCSMA and unit 16 LCDSA, which will continue to be provided their 80/20 health insurance.

Recommended Action: Approve increasing the County health care monthly contribution to $1,500 and authorize the County Administrative Officer to execute resolutions for Management and Confidential Units A and B and Side Letters Units 3, 4, 5 Lake County Employee Association, Unit 6, Lake County Correctional Officers Association, Unit 8, Lake County Deputy District Attorney Association, and Unit 10, Lake County Safety Employees Association.
