Date:                                          April 7, 2026

To:                                          The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          Susan Parker, County Administrative Officer

                                          Administrative Office

Subject:                     Approve Out of State Travel for District 2 Supervisor Bruno Sabatier and District 5 Supervisor Jessica Pyska to attend the annual National Association of Counties (NACo) Conference in New Orleans, LA from July 16-21, 2026

Executive Summary: The National Association of Counties (NACo) Annual Conference brings together elected and appointed officials from the nation’s 3,069 counties, parishes, and boroughs. The conference will include dozens of committee and caucus meetings, educational workshops, general sessions and more. Sessions will offer learning and best practices on the full range of county responsibilities and domestic policy issues. NACo membership will also elect new leadership and set the organization's policy priorities during the Annual Business Meeting.

Supervisors Sabatier and Pyska represent Lake County, serving on the Board of Directors and as Alternate, respectively. Both are very active within NACo, serving on committees and attending meetings throughout the year. They use the information and contacts gained from NACo to work with State and Federal representatives on behalf of Lake County, securing support for projects and assuring the needs of our residents are met.
