Executive Summary:

The Board of Supervisors approved the consolidation of the Public Works and Public Services Departments on March 10, 2026. This organizational change places the combined responsibilities of both departments under the leadership of the Public Works Director.

The current Public Works Director position was benchmarked during the 2024 Salary Study, at which time the Public Services Director’s salary was aligned with that of the Public Works Director. Based on this alignment Class and Comp Committee considered options ranging from 15% to 20%. The vote was evenly split, with four members supporting a 20% increase and four members supporting a 15% increase.
