Subject: a) Waive the formal bidding requirement; and b) Authorize the Sheriff/Coroner or his designee to issue a Purchase Order in the amount not to exceed $50,500 to Dell Marketing L.P. for 20 computers and monitors for the Sheriff's Office and 20 computers and monitors for the Lake County Jail/Hill Road Facility
Executive Summary: The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is requesting approval to purchase 20 new computers and monitors for the Sheriff’s Office and 20 new computers and monitors for the Lake County Jail/Hill Road Facility to replace end-of-life computers. We have received a quote for 20 computers and monitors for each facility, from the Dell State of California NASPO ValuePoint contract, a cooperative purchase contract available to state and local government entities in California. We are requesting your board’s authorization to issue purchase orders in an amount not to exceed $50,500 for the purchase of this replacement equipment. These computers and monitors have already been received by our Information Technology Department, however because the revised purchasing policy, approved by your Board on March 26, 2024, did not become effective until July 1, 2024, this purchase requires approval by your Board before payment can be issued.
