Memorandum
Date: March 11, 2025
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Mireya G. Turner, Community Development Director
Lisa Judd, Deputy CAO - Housing
Subject: 11:00 A.M. - Presentation of Lake County 2050 General Plan Update
Executive Summary: The Lake County 2050 Project includes the update of most of the countywide elements, all eight Local Area Plans, and a Housing Action and Implementation Plan (HAIP). The update began in December 2023, with an anticipated conclusion in Fall 2026. The Board of Supervisors established advisory committees for both the General Plan and Local Area Plan updates. Since last Fall, these groups have met frequently to discuss and approve recommendations to the Board to inform changes in land use designations, community growth boundaries, and planning area boundaries.
LAPAC recommended changes to land use designations, community growth boundaries, and planning area boundaries can be reviewed at LAPAC - Recommended GPLU Changes Viewer <https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/aac41480fa4e473d937d920d5d006636/>. The GPAC recommendations are attached. Video recordings of LAPAC and GPAC meetings are available at LakeCounty2050.org <http://www.lakecounty2050.org> and the County of Lake’s Agenda webpage for Boards and Commissions. <https://www.lakecountyca.gov/agendacenter>
Administrative Office Staff will present an update on the progress of the HAIP.
The purpose of this update is to present the Local Area Plan Advisory Committee (LAPAC) and General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) recommendations to date and receive any Board direction on next steps.
