Memorandum
Date: September 27, 2024
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Wendy Mondfrans, Chief Probation Officer
Subject: Approve Long-Distance Travel for Chief Probation Officer Wendy Mondfrans to attend the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Conference in Washington, DC in November 2024
Executive Summary:
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Conference is being held in Washington, DC from November 19, 2024, through November 21, 2024. The conference will bring together youth justice partners, practitioners, youth and families, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention grantees, and other stakeholders. This conference will feature over 80 workshops, 2 plenary sessions, and networking events. Conference sessions will provide the latest research, evidence-informed practices, and other promising approaches that have positively impacted the youth justice field, including children and their families where the child is in out-of-home care.
Because of the distance of the conference, I may need to travel the day before and the day after depending on the timing of the workshops.
Pursuant to the County of Lake Travel Policy 15-1.3(D), I respectfully request your Board’s approval for me to travel out of State to attend the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Conference in Washington, DC.
