Subject:                     (Sitting as the Lake County Watershed Protection District Board of Directors) Adopt Resolution of the Lake County Watershed Protection District authorizing the funding request, acceptance, and execution for the California Stream Gage Upgrade Project:  Clover Creek Diversion Channel

 

Executive Summary:

Staff is requesting the Board of Directors of the Lake County Watershed Protection District (District) to adopt and sign the attached resolution and submit both the resolution and draft agreement between the District and the California Department of Water Resources (CDWR) to accept and execute the CA Stream Gage Improvement Program (CalSIPS) grant  in an amount not to exceed $67,000. 

 

This grant program will provide $67,000 to continue a current stream gage O&M agreement with United State Geological Survey to maintain the stream flow gage at Clover Creek and Elk Mnt. Road for three more additional years, or from 2025/26 - 2028/2029 wet water years.

 

Attached you will find the Resolution and draft CALSIPs grant program agreement which have both been approved by County Counsel.  CDWR requires an approved and signed resolution before the agency finalizes the grant agreement with the District.  By approving and signing the attach resolution, you authorize the Water Resources Director to sign the finalized agreement on behalf of the Watershed Protection District.

 

This item is not anticipated to be controversial; therefore, we are requesting this item be placed on the consent agenda.
