Subject: Adopt Resolution Approving Agreement with California Department of Food Agriculture for Certified Farmer’s Market Program Investigation and Enforcement Agreement # 22-0308-000-SA in the Amount of $1,425.00 for Period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023
Executive Summary:
I would like to ask the Board to adopt the attached resolution approving the agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture for inspection/ investigation/ enforcement work involving the Certified Farmer’s Market Program. This program allows growers to sell their own produce at a Certified Farmer’s Market (CFM). There are seven CFM’S in Lake County in 2022 and 34 Certified Producers registered with the county. This agreement reimburses the county for extra, non- routine inspections driven by alleged, credible violations for fiscal year 2022/2023. It also reimburses the county for investigation time and enforcement actions taken. The agreement would reimburse the county up to $1,425.00 and would only be implemented under the conditions stated above.
Should the Board adopt this Resolution, please have the chair sign and return one copy of the Agreement, one copy of the Board Resolution and return them to the Agricultural Commissioner’s office for processing. A signed completed copy will be returned for your records.
