Executive Summary:
On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act into Law. As a result of its passage, the County of Lake was allocated $12,506,226.00 in State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Ad Hoc Committee evaluated community needs and their potential fit with the intent of ARPA and the U.S. Treasury’s SLFRF guidance.
During the ARPA Ad Hoc Committee meetings senior centers were recommended to receive $300,000 for assessments or other needs to set the organizations up for success. After the committee meeting further direction was to provide the funding to senior centers for capital expenditures.
On February 28, 2023, your board approved the American Rescue Act (ARPA) Funding request to provide up to $50,000 to each senior center for capital expenditures.
The allowable requests may include but are not limited to:
• New Roof / Windows
• Solar
• Vehicle for meal deliveries
• Appliances / Equipment
• Building Remodel
• HVAC / Generator
• Weather Proofing
Before your Board today are the agreements with the local senior centers that have applied for the approved funding. A ceremonial presentation of funds is scheduled for the June 13, 2023 Board of Supervisors meeting.
