Subject:                     Approve Request to Close Community Development Department to the Public on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, from 12pm to 5PM for All-Staff Training.

 

Executive Summary: 

Executive Summary: We respectfully request the Board’s approval to close the Community Development Department (CDD) to the public on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, from 12PM to 5PM for an All-Staff training to be held at Silveria Community Center in Lakeport, covering a wide range of topics including policy and procedures annual review, Public Records Request (PRA) and Subpoena policies and procedures, team building exercises, and staff recognition.

While closed we will be training new and veteran staff to ensure all staff members are proficient and knowledgeable in policies and procedures, including but not limited to a review of Policies and procedures presented in 2025. We will be presenting the policy and procedures for Public Records Request and Subpoena’s and creating a cohesive team environment with team building exercises.

The Board’s approval of this request will ensure that staff are provided with the most accurate up to date information and establish detailed understanding of Public Records Request and Subpoena’s, review policies and procedures to ensure staff are knowledgeable and understanding of each and ultimately improve staff morale and overall customer satisfaction.
