Subject:                     Adopt Resolution Approving Agreement No. 22-1694-0019-SF with the State of      California, Department of Food and Agriculture for Insect Trapping for FY 23-24 for $41,224.00

 

Executive Summary:

 

I would like to ask the Board to adopt the attached Resolution approving the agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for exotic pest detection trapping to prevent the introduction and spread of injurious insects that would threaten the economic importance of the agriculture food supply grown in California This program is critical to Lake County’s agricultural industry and local environment. Without a detection program in place, Lake County grown commodities would not be able to be shipped to other parts of the country or internationally due to quarantine requirements. This agreement term is July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, for $41,224.00.

 

Should the Board adopt this Resolution, please have the chair sign and return one (1) copy of the Agreement, and one (1) copy of the Board Resolution. A signed completed copy will be returned for your records.
