Subject: Adopt Resolution Approving Agreement with the State of California for Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Federal Funds, SFDA Number 90.404, Administered by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) for Activities to Improve the Administration of Elections for Federal Office, Including to Enhance Election Technology and make Election Security Improvements and Authorizing the Registrar of Voters to Execute the Agreement with the State.
Executive Summary:
New HAVA funding has been authorized by the state and federal governments to be used for election purposes.
The HAVA funds received pursuant to this contract shall be used for reimbursement for activities to improve the administration of elections for Federal Office, including to enhance election technology and make election security improvements, as authorized under sections 101, 103, and 104 of HAVA.
By adopting this Resolution, the county will be entering into an agreement, attached, with the Secretary of State to receive funds in the amount of $15,789.00 and authorize the Registrar of Voters to execute the agreement with the State. The term of the agreement is June 30, 2026.
