Subject: Acceptance of an IRobot 510 PackBot from the Hayward Police Department through the 1033 program
Executive Summary:
On June 7th, 2022 the Lake County Sheriff’s Office presented a draft “Military Equipment”, policy #708 and presentation of all current equipment possessed and utilized by the Sheriff’s Office meeting the criteria of Government Code 7070-7075.
During a Crisis Response Unit training held after the Board of Supervisors meeting on June 6th, 2022, the IRobot Model 510 PackBot utilized by the Sheriff’s Office failed. The Sheriff’s Office contacted the manufacture and it was determined, due to the age of the 510 PackBot it was not repairable.
On July 6th, 2022, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office located an available replacement IRobot Model 510 PackBot through the 1033 program. The replacement PackBot is currently in the possession of another Northern California Law Enforcement agency.
Pursuant to Government Code 7070-7075, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the Lake County Board of Supervisors authorization to acquire the replacement IRobot Model 510 PackBot from the 1033 program. The acquisition of the replacement 510 PackBot will be at no cost to the County of Lake.
Upon acceptance, a minute order with your approval is requested.
