Memorandum

Date:                                          June 13, 2023

To:                     The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors, sitting as the Board of Directors, Lake County Watershed Protection District

From:                                          Scott DeLeon, Water Resources Director and Jordan Beaton, Program    Coordinator

Subject:                     Adopt Resolution to Amend the Adopted Budget for FY 22-23 by Increasing Revenue in Fund 200 Budget Unit 1809 Watershed Protection District to Appropriate Unanticipated Revenue

Executive Summary:

During the preparation of this year’s budget, the Watershed Protection District (“District”), Budget Unit 1809, did not account for revenue to be provided by County of Lake Department of Agriculture.  Today’s item proposes a Resolution that will result in a series of adjustments to various funds and accounts to recognize the additional revenue and create the necessary appropriations to purchase needed supplies and equipment - which will be used for invasive vegetation management on the Lake County levee system and Highland Springs Recreation Area for the purposes of wildfire risk reduction, flood protection, and general maintenance.  As detailed in the attached Resolution, your Board, serving as the Board of Directors of the Watershed Protection District, is authorized to perform this action by various sections of the Government Code, and this adjustment will make it possible for the District to complete the purchase of the needed supplies and capital asset equipment.
