SUBJECT: Approve Amendment 3 to the Agreement between the County of Lake and Ford Street Project for Substance Use Disorder Residential and Detoxification Services FY2017-18, an increase of $30,000 and contract maximum of $80,000 and authorize the Chair to sign
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Attached, for your approval, is Amendment 3 to the Agreement between the County of Lake and Ford Street Project for Fiscal Year 2017-18. Under the Agreement, Alcohol and Other Drug Services, a division of Lake County Behavioral Health (LCBH), is obligated to pay a rate of $110.00 per day for Detoxification Services and $125.00 per day for Residential Services.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: The Ford Street Project is an organization that has been serving clients since September 1974. Although Ford Street operates in three basic areas including housing/shelter, drug and alcohol treatment, and job training/development, LCBH is contracting for drug and alcohol treatment only.

FISCAL IMPACT (Narrative): LCBH is requesting approval of Amendment 3 to the Agreement for Fiscal Year 2017-18 for an increase of $30,000 for a new contract maximum of $80,000. Providing alcohol and substance abuse treatment assists clients in their recovery. Assisting clients to recover reduces county expense in other areas, including correctional and protective services agencies.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve Amendment 3 to the Agreement between the County of Lake and Ford Street Project for Substance Use Disorder Residential and Detoxification Services FY2017-18, an increase of $30,000 and contract maximum of $80,000 and authorize the Chair to sign.
