Executive Summary:

Health Services respectfully requests your Board's authorization to send Health Programs Coordinator Leila Romero and Staff Services Analyst Jennifer Thorup to the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) 360 conference, in Denver, Colorado, July 9-14, 2023. Costs of registration, travel, and accommodation are budgeted in the California Equitable Recovery Initiative (CERI) grant.

The NACCHO 360 conference encourages cross-pollination by bridging traditional public health practices and disciplines with health informatics, information technology, and surveillance. Attendees will learn practical tools, strategies, and concepts that demonstrate the latest effective methods to confront the ongoing public health challenges facing our local health department today. This conference will provide education, information, and resources integral to Leila Romero’s work in Health Equity to reduce health disparities experienced by marginalized populations in Lake County, and to Jennifer Thorup’s work in attaining Lake County Health Services’ Accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board.
