Executive Summary:  A replacement pump is needed for Lift Station #1 within the Northeast Wastewater Collection System.  There is one vendor that supplies Flygt pumps in our area.  The existing pump is a Flygt and there are not any other models or brands available that fit the lift station without costly modifications.  The lift station would need to be down for an extended period to complete modifications.  The wastewater would need to be trucked, or a by-pass installed which would add additional costs over and above any modifications.  Staff has determined it is more cost effective and expedient to purchase a replacement pump from Flygt as a sole source purchase.  The total cost of the replacement pump is $176,724.25.  A copy of the quote is attached.

The cost for the pump is included in our operating budget and staff will perform the installation.  No additional funds are needed for this purchase.
