Memorandum

Date:                                          March 10, 2026

To:                                          The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          Brad Rasmussen, Chair and District 4 Supervisor

Subject:                     Consideration of a Letter of Support for the “Lake County Conservation, Restoration and Stewardship Improvement Capacity Building Project” of the Lake County Land Trust and Authorize the Chair to sign

Executive Summary:

The Lake County Land Trust (LCLT), a non-profit organization, has provided vital services in the conservation and protection of environmental, scenic, cultural, and historical resources here in Lake County for the past 32 years. They are seeking funding from the Blue-Ribbon Committee for the Rehabilitation of Clear Lake and are asking your board to consider a letter of support for their proposed “Lake County Conservation, Restoration and Stewardship Improvement Capacity Building Project.”

The project is essential to continue building the capacity for the LCLT, through these tasks:

Expanding education and outreach programming on LCLT and partner lands,

Improving access through conservation and stewardship of wildlands and waters,

Improving the capacity of the LCLT to acquire - through purchase, donation, or easement agreements- high priority Clear Lake basin habitats for conservation and protection.
