Subject:                     Public Hearing - Consideration of Closing of the CDBG Lake County Business Assistance Revolving Loan Fund

 

Executive Summary:

The County of Lake was awarded a CDBG CV-1 grant in the amount of $202,859.00 under contract number 20-CDBG-CV1-00106. The funding was to support local for-profit businesses recovering from the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic. The county contracted with Community Development Services (CDS) to implement the loan program. Two loans were approved by the loan committee, Upper Lake Grocery received funds in the amount of $175,000, retaining 8 jobs, A/T Wanzer Grading & Excavating received funds in the amount of $210,000, of which $2,859 was the remaining CV-1 funds, the remainder of funds were issued through the CV2-3 grant, A/T Wanzer retained 6 jobs. In all, 14 jobs were retained by the allocated funding.  The CDBG CV-1 Grant funds have been fully utilized, staff recommends closing out grant 20-CDBG CV-1-00106.
