Subject: Consideration of County Economic Development and Housing Initiatives
Executive Summary:
Ben Rickelman, Deputy County Administrative Officer, will provide an update on economic development initiatives that are in progress and recently passed legislation that may have a significant local economic impact.
These initiatives include:
• The County Economic Development / Housing website;
• Capital Improvement Plan;
• Microgrids RFQ;
• Health Education and Regional Training Hub EDA funding - Senator Padilla’s request; and
• The upcoming CDBG submittal, which potentially include façade improvements, microenterprise / small business loans, and a microgrid analysis.
The legislation covered will include SB 131, AB 130, and H.R. 1, the recently enacted reconciliation bill.
Lisa Judd, Deputy County Administrative Officer, will additionally provide a brief update regarding next week’s Special Meeting, where your Board will receive a detailed presentation on the Housing Action and Implementation Plan.
