Subject:                     Consideration of Advanced Salary Step Appointment of Danielle Dizon to Health Services Administrative Manager

 

Executive Summary:

Health Services Administration has had several failed recruitments for Administrative Manager (Fiscal), and a history of difficulty filling this role. The role’s current vacancy has been longer than one year. We ask your Boards assistance in filling this role, by allowing us to offer an advanced step to an exceptional candidate.

Danielle Dizon has served Lake County for more than 18 years, having previously been part of the Auditor-Controller’s team, leaving her role at Step 5.

Given her extensive background in County fiscal processes and auditing, she brings a wealth of experience that will significantly benefit Lake County Health Services.

Danielle has demonstrated a strong understanding of County financial operations, which is critical for the Administrative Manager role. She will play a pivotal role in enhancing budget tracking, improving financial analysis, and ensuring accurate reporting within the Health Services Department. Her experience, combined with her familiarity with Lake County policies and procedures, makes her an ideal candidate for this position.

Justification for Step 5 Approval:

Danielle's previous role with the Auditor-Controller’s office, where she was placed at Step 5 of the wage scale, reflects her qualifications and expertise. The skills she developed during her tenure, especially in fiscal management and auditing, make her uniquely qualified to excel in this role. Furthermore, Danielle's performance in her interview and her exceptional results on the skills test she completed strongly support her suitability for the position.

Step 5 in the Administrative Manager position is equivalent in pay to her previous role at Step 5.

By offering her Step 5, we are ensuring that the Health Services team is strengthened with a highly skilled individual who is already well-versed in County processes and will be able to contribute immediately to the Department’s goals.
