Executive Summary:
The purpose of MIT-PP is to assist local jurisdictions with mitigation-public services projects to support risk reduction from the three primary hazards (wildfire, flooding, and earthquake). MIT-PPS Projects must meet the HUD definition of mitigation, "activities that increase resilience to disasters and reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of loss of life, injury, damage to and loss of property, and suffering and hardship by lessening the impact of future disasters."
The Community Development Department has applied for HCD’s CDBG MIT - Planning and Public Services Grant to support a Code Enforcement Mitigation Team submitted 3/1/2024. After a review of the documents by CDBG staff, it was brought to the attention of our department that our CDBG MIT PPS Resolution allocation amount was incorrect, the final amount is $1,123,262.
The Community Development Department is requesting to (a) Rescind Resolution 2024-19 A Resolution Approving an Application for Funding and the Execution of a Grant Agreement and any Amendments Thereto from the 2023-2024 Funding Year of the State CDBG Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) Resilient Planning and Public Services (MIT-PPS) Program and (b) Adopt and approve updated Resolution reflecting the $1,123,262. amount so we may receive the Standard Agreement from the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
