Subject:                     Approve travel exceeding 1,500 miles for Susan Parker, County Administrative Officer, to attend the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from September 20 - 26, 2024 in an amount not to exceed $4500.00.

 

Executive Summary:

The Administrative Office is requesting approval to send Ms. Parker to the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) annual conference. This conference is specific to the unique and challenging duties of local government professionals and offers leadership development, networking, and programming opportunities. Topics covered will include fostering high performing relationships among County leadership, vision and strategic planning, community outreach and engagement methods, and addressing issues such as homelessness and climate resiliency. All this training directly relates to Ms. Parker’s position and will directly benefit the County and its citizens.

 

Therefore, pursuant to 1.3, D, of the County of Lake Travel Policy, we request your Board approve travel exceeding 1,500 miles, to facilitate Ms. Parker attending this valuable training.
