Date:                                          April 8, 2025

To:                                          The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          Glen March, Public Works Director

                                          Pablo Pantaleon, Assistant Engineer

Subject:                                          Consideration to (1) Award of the Construction Contract for the 2024 Pavement Rehabilitation Project, Bid No. 24-39, to Argonaut Constructors, Inc. and (2) Authorize the Chair to Sign the Notice of Award and Execute the Contract, in the amount of $5,113,696.75, between County of Lake and Argonaut Constructors, Inc. for the Construction of the 2024 Pavement Rehabilitation Project

Executive Summary:

On February 20, 2025, Lake County received four (4) bids for the 2024 Pavement Rehabilitation Project (Project). Bids were publicly opened and read aloud.  The bid tabulation is attached. The apparent lowest responsive and responsible bidder was Argonaut Constructors, Inc. (Contractor). Staff reviewed the bid submittal and determined that Contractor was the lowest responsible bidder.

If the Board of Supervisors awards the construction contract to Contractor, the Chair will sign the Notice of Award, which will be sent to Contractor. After Contractor submits the signed Notice of Award, signed construction contract, and all required documents, the Chair will execute the contract between County of Lake and Contractor, in the amount of $5,113,696.75, for the construction of the 2024 Pavement Rehabilitation Project and Authorize the Chair to execute Agreement.

Construction costs will be paid from Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) (aka SB1) Funds.
