Subject: Adopt Resolution authorizing the 2024-2025 Grant Project, Lake County Victim-Witness Assistance Program and authorize the District Attorney to affirm that the County of Lake will comply with all applicable assurances
Executive Summary:
The 2024-2025 Victim-Witness Assistance Grant was applied for, subsequent to informing C.A.O. Susan Parker on September 17, 2024. This grant is offered by the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) which will reimburse Victim-Witness program costs of up to $347,324. There is no need for matching funds, as CalOES approved our request to waive 100% of the match. The 2024-2025 Grant Project will mark the 39th year that the Victim Witness Division of the Lake County District Attorney’s Office has been funded, allowing the Victim Witness Division to continue to provide services to those individuals impacted by crimes in Lake County. The grant period will run from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025 and will pay for the majority of personnel and operating costs for the Victim Witness Division.
