Subject: Consideration of Letter of Support for Public Health Officer Noemi Doohan, MD, PhD, MPH, as an applicant for the 2024 American Academy of Family Medicine’s (AAFP) Public Health Award
Executive Summary: I respectfully request that you consider endorsing the nomination of Public Health Officer Noemi Doohan, MD, PhD, MPH for the 2024 American Academy of Family Medicine’s (AAFP) Public Health Award.
Dr. Doohan has been encouraged by the American Academy of Family Medicine to apply for the 2024 award. She qualifies as a nominee because she is a board-certified Family Physician and a member of the California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) and the American Academy of Family Medicine (AAFP) in good standing.
The Public Health Award seeks to honor champions of public health who demonstrate a willingness to work outside their normal duties to promote public health; who show strong leadership, innovation, and advocacy; and whose work has aided both patient and community health. Entries are judged by the executive committee for the Commission on Health of the Public and Science. The winner will officially be announced at the AAFP Congress of Delegates meeting in Phoenix, Arizona on September 25, 2024.
