Subject:                      Approve Request to Waive 900 Hour Limit for Extra-Help Accountant, Gloria Martinez

 

 

Executive Summary: The Community Development Department requests approval to exceed the 900-hour extra-help limit for Accountant Gloria Martinez. Funds for this position are allocated in Budget unit 2602, and there are sufficient funds available to cover additional hours. The employee is a CalPERS Annuitant and as per CalPERS the employee may work up to 960 hours per fiscal year.

The Community Development Department would like to continue to allocate additional hours until the end of the fiscal year, for the purpose of training our new CDD Accountant I, and Accounting Technician Senior on the budgeting and end of fiscal year reporting.

 

Currently, Ms. Martinez is filling a critical role in CDD, training our new accounting team through their first budget cycle in these roles.
