Subject: Approve Rental Agreement between the County of Lake and Kevin Soto for Storage Hanger #1 at Lampson Field for the monthly amount of $300 and authorize the Chair to sign; and (b) Approve Rental Agreement between the County of Lake and Kevin Soto for Storage Hanger #2 at Lampson Field for the Monthly amount of $500 and authorize the Chair to sign.
Executive Summary:
The attached rental agreements are for two separate metal storage hangars at Lampson Field Airport. Kevin Soto is the former business partner of Paul Lowen. The Board approved the rental agreements with Mr. Lowen and Mr. Soto on June 8, 2021. Mr. Lowen has since retired and wishes to be removed from the rental agreements. All provisions of the original agreement remain the same; only Mr. Lowen’s name has been removed, and clarification of business activities has been added.
Mr. Soto has been using the hangars to teach Clear Lake High School students about aviation, including hands-on instruction using a flight simulator. This program benefits local students and serves the County’s interest by supporting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in local schools.
