Memorandum

Date:                                          02/11/2025

To:                                          The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          Rachael Dillman Parsons, Social Services Director, Executive Director Area Agency on Aging of Lake and Mendocino Counties - PSA 26

Subject:                     Presentation Regarding 2025 Federal Funding for the Area Agency on Aging of Lake and Mendocino Counties

Executive Summary:

The Federal Continuing Resolution authorized on December 20, 2024, did not include Older Americans Act (OAA) reauthorization, leaving the Area Agency on Aging of Lake and Mendocino County with a nearly $1 million shortfall to continue services through June 30, 2025.

This presentation will bring to your board and the public our plans to continue services through June 30, 2025, the risks involved with supplanting federal funding with state funding for this effort, and the outlook should the OAA not be reauthorized, or omit AAA funding.

This presentation will also be given to Mendocino County Board of Supervisors.
