Date:                                          February 11, 2025

To:                                          The Honorable Eddie Crandell, Chair, Lake County Board of Supervisors

From:                                          Lars Ewing, Public Services Director

Subject:                     Consideration of Agreement between the County of Lake and Vanir Construction Management, Inc. for Construction Management Services for the Sheriff Administration Facility Project in the amount of $665,753.00

Executive Summary:

On February 27, 2024, following a competitive solicitation by the Public Services Department, your Board approved a pre-qualified list of capital project management service providers available for future work with the County. In late 2024, in anticipation of construction beginning this year for the renovation of the National Guard Armory to the new Lake County Sheriff Administration Center, Public Services staff requested a scope of work from one of the firms on the list, Vanir Construction Management, Inc., for construction management, special inspection, and commissioning services in support of the armory project. After negotiations concluded, staff prepared the attached agreement with Vanir for your Board’s consideration.

It is important to note that Vanir will be providing services to supplement Public Services’ in-house construction management staff. Appropriations for this work are included in Budget Unit 1785, Public Safety Facilities.
