Subject:                     Adopt Resolution that will authorize the Department Head of LCDSS to apply for and accept the county allocation award under Round 6 of the Transitional Housing Program and Round 3 of the Housing Navigation and Maintenance Program.

 

 

Executive Summary:

The Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Program Encompasses several programs to prevent homelessness and secure and maintain housing for young adults aged 18 to 24 years, with priority given to those currently or formerly in the foster care or probation systems.

 

1.                     The THP program allocates grants to counties based on each count’s percentage of the total statewide number of young adults aged 18 to 24 years, inclusive, in foster care or probation systems. LCDSS allocation for acceptance in FY 24-25 is $73,289.

 

2.                     The HNMP program allocates grants to counties based on each county’s percentage of the total statewide number of young adults aged 18 to 24 years of age, inclusive, currently or formerly in the foster care system. LCDSS allocation for acceptance in FY 24-25 is $22,975.

 

CDSS requires a Board of Supervisors resolution to apply for and accept these funds.
