Subject: Approve Award of Bid for the Socrates Mine Road Stabilization Project, Bid No. 23-13 with Gregg Simpson Trucking and Construction in the Amount of $1,075,961.35 and Authorize the Chair to Sign the Notice of Award and Agreement

Executive Summary:

The Purchasing Department publicly opened bids for the subject project on Friday, March 29, 2024. Six (6) bids were received, and the apparent lowest responsible bidder was Gregg Simpson Trucking and Construction. Please refer to the attached bid tabulation.

The project is fully funded from the Cal OES (Office of Environmental Services). The scope of the project is clean up and repair two landslide damaged sections of Socrates Mine Rd. by installing new culvert pipe and constructing a pier wall to retain the road.
