Subject: Adopt Draft Ordinance Amending Chapter 5 of the Lake County Code, Section 6 of the Lake County Code, Adding Section 6.25 relating to Exempt Agricultural Building Permitting for Temporary Hoop Structures for Cannabis Cultivation

Executive Summary: On April 18, 2023, the Board considered the recommendations of the Cannabis Ordinance Task Force, Agriculture Advisory Committee, and Planning Commission regarding the proposed ordinance contained within the Resolution of Intent (RES) 2022-122, adopted by the Board on September 27, 2022. The Board directed Staff to return the next meeting with a draft Ordinance regarding temporary hoop structures for cultivation.

The item returned to the Board on April 25, and May 2, 2023, for further revision. The first reading, in title only, was approved on May 2, 2023. The draft Ordinance is included as Attachment 1 (redlined version) and Attachment 2 (clean version).
