Date: October 21, 2025

To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From: Shane French, Information Technology Director

Subject: a) Waive the formal bidding requirement; and b) authorize the IT Director to issue purchase order to Carahsoft Technology Corp. for Center for Internet Security's Endpoint Security Service in the amount of $100,932.00

Executive Summary:

The Information Technology Department utilizes the Center for Internet Security's MDR (Managed Detection and Response) services to protect County IT systems. This service allows for 24/7 professional monitoring of our Information Systems by a trusted third party along with advanced detection and prevention of malware and other cybersecurity threats.

This service is a paid subscription that must be renewed yearly to continue using the services.
We are asking that your Board waive the formal bidding requirement because the ESS product is available on the NASPO ValuePoint Cooperative Purchasing contract (Section 2-38.4) and authorize the IT Director to issue a purchase order in the amount of $100,932.00.
