Date: July 2nd, 2024

To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From: Elise Jones, Director of Behavioral Health

Subject: Consideration of Agreement between County of Lake and California Psychiatric Transitions for Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital Services, Inpatient Competency Restoration Services, and Professional Services Associate with Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitalization in the amount of $350,000.00 for fiscal year 2024-25.

Executive Summary:

Lake County Behavioral Health Services conducted a Request for Qualifications with this vendor, with whom there was also a contract in FY 2023-24, to ensure they remain in good standing to continue to provide these services.

California Psychiatric Transitions is a unique facility, in that it is one of three in our region that will accept patients on Murphy's conservatorship and provide inpatient competency restoration services. Across the state, we have seen an increase in this patient population. There remain limited beds/facilities that will accept and treat these patients. This facility is an alternative placement to a State Hospital.
