Memorandum
Date: September 15, 2026
To: The Honorable, Brad Rasmussen, Chair, Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Public Works Department
Subject: Authorize the Public Works Director/Assistant Purchasing Agent to sign a Purchase Order to Nixon-Egli Equipment in an amount not to exceed $104,652.94 for the purchase of one Rosco RB50 Self Propelled Broom
Executive Summary: The County’s FY 2026/2027 budget includes an appropriation in Heavy Equipment Replacement, budget unit 9908, for the purchase of a self-propelled broom to sweep loose aggregate, dirt, and debris from roadways during pavement maintenance and construction operations.
Staff solicited a quote from Nixon-Egli Equipment for one Rosco RB50 Self Propelled Broom using Nixon-Egli’s contract 060122-VTL with Sourcewell, a local government cooperative purchasing consortium. Consequently, the competitive bidding requirements of the County’s purchasing ordinance, County Code Section 2-38.4, are fulfilled. The total purchase price, including freight and sales tax, is $104,652.94, which requires Board of Supervisors authority to award.
