Subject: Approve CAPIT/CBCAP/PSSF Program Funding Assurances for Lake County, Period of Plan October 7, 2025, through October 7, 2030, and Authorize Chair to Sign.
Executive Summary:
Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) requests that the Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the chair to sign the CAPIT/CBCAP/PSSF Program Funding Assurances for the period of October 7, 2025, through October 7, 2030.
The Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) administers federal funding through the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP), and Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) programs. Counties receiving these funds must identify their planned use in a five-year System Improvement Plan (SIP).
The Board previously approved Lake County’s current SIP, which includes the use of OCAP funds to support the Lake County Children’s Council Healthy Start Program, Lake Family Resource Center (LFRC) and Lake County Office of Education (LCOE) programs for Differential Response and Parent Education, and an internal parent engagement program.
The attached assurances align with the SIP previously presented to and approved by the Board.
Fiscal Impact: None. All activities are fully funded through state and federal sources and are included in the approved FY 2026-27 budget.
