Executive Summary:
This item is being submitted as an “extra” agenda item. This item relates to an employee disciplinary appeal to be held in closed session under Government Code Section 54957. Personnel Rule 1401 requires the appeal to be heard by the Board within 2 regular meetings of receiving the notice of appeal, which puts the deadline to hear this appeal on 09/22/2026. Staff discovered the County’s past use of the above-referenced closed session caption for employee disciplinary appeals after the 09/18/2026 posting of the agenda.
