Subject: Approve Health Services Request to Apply for California Department of Justice Tobacco Grant Program Funds in the Amount of $500,000
Executive Summary:
We respectfully request your Board’s approval to apply for the Department of Justice’s Tobacco Grant Program for $500,000 to fund the implementation of tobacco enforcement activities if they are required by a Tobacco Retail License ordinance.
This funding will be used to hire needed staff, purchase supplies, and partner with local law enforcement agencies to provide education and enforcement, supporting initial activities for up to 36 months.
