Subject: Consideration of a Letter of Support for the "Putting Down Roots: Establishing TERA's EcoCultural Stewardship Training Center" of the Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance
Executive Summary:
The mission of the Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance (TERA), a non-profit organization, is to revitalize ecology, economy, and culture through Indigenous-led stewardship is of great service to Lake County. Their work supports key priorities, such as wildfire preparedness, watershed and ecosystem restoration, and community resilience. Additionally, TERA's efforts help address the critical challenge of building a trained workforce to manage natural resources and restore landscapes, while creating meaningful jobs in our county.
TERA's EcoCultural Stewardship Training Center plays an important role in building the workforce and community capacity needed to restore the Clear Lake Basin. Establishing this permanent base for training and demonstration will help cultivate the next generation of Lake County land stewards who will carry forward the work of restoring:
