Subject: 9:30 A.M. - Consideration of Presentation on Phases One and Two of the Climate Health Adaptation and Resilience Mobilization (CHARM) Lake County Program

Executive Summary:

A collaborative project of the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians and Tracking California, a program of the Public Health Institute in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control's National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program, the Climate Health Adaptation and Resilience Mobilization (CHARM) Lake County Program has recently completed Phase 1 of its work to support resilience and safety in natural disasters and other emergencies. Participants in the first phase included staff from several County Departments, Tribal government staff, both Cities of Clearlake and Lakeport, Lake County Office of Education, American Red Cross, North Coast Opportunities, Lake County Tribal Health Consortium, and other community-based organizations.

Over the course of two years, Phase 1 of CHARM Lake County focused on those most at risk during emergencies, and the final project was the development of guidelines for those providing services for these at-risk communities, which Tracking California staff will present to you today, along with their findings, recommendations, and the community and local government input that went into their development.

They also will be sharing information about CHARM Lake County Phase 2, which began in June 2025 and is the implementation phase of this work - building resilience at the community level via a program in partnership with County Departments, Clearlake and Lakeport senior centers, Tribes, and organizations supporting outdoor workers in Lake County.
