Subject: (a) Approve Agreement between the County of Lake and the Highland Senior Service Center for the ARPA Senior Center Grant Award in an amount not to exceed $50,000, and authorize the Chair to sign;
(b) Approve Agreement between the County of Lake and the Lakeport Senior Center for the ARPA Senior Center Grant Award in an amount not to exceed $50,000, and authorize the Chair to sign;
(c) Approve Agreement between the County of Lake and the Live Oak Senior Center for the ARPA Senior Center Grant Award in an amount not to exceed $50,000, and authorize the Chair to sign;
(d) Approve Agreement between the County of Lake and the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, Inc. for the ARPA Senior Center Grant Award in an amount not to exceed $50,000, and authorize the Chair to sign;
(e) Approve Agreement between the County of Lake and the Middletown Senior Center for the ARPA Senior Center Grant Award in an amount not to exceed $50,000, and authorize the Chair to sign; and
(f) Approve Agreement between the County of Lake and Upper Lake Senior Support Services for the ARPA Senior Center Grant Award in an amount not to exceed $50,000, and authorize the Chair to sign
Executive Summary:
On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act into Law. As a result of its passage, the County of Lake was allocated $12,506,226.00 in State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Ad Hoc Committee evaluated community needs and their potential fit with the intent of ARPA and the U.S. Treasury's SLFRF guidance.
During the ARPA Ad Hoc Committee meetings senior centers were recommended to receive $300,000 for assessments or other needs to set the organizations up for success. After the committee meeting further direction was to provide the funding to senior centers for capital expenditures.
