Memorandum

Date: June 3, 2025

To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors

From: Mireya G. Turner, Community Development Director
Glen March, Public Works Director
Pawan Upadhyay, Water Resources Director

Subject: Approval closure of Community Development, Public Works, and Water Resources Department counters on June 11, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for Multi-Department Staff Training

Executive Summary: Staff requests approval to close the counters of Community Development, Public Works, and Water Resources for the date and time described above, in order to attend a Workplace Violence/Active Shooter Training, performed by Lakeport Police Officer Todd Freitas.

Officer Freitas has graciously offered this training to County Staff. The 3rd floor Staff will attend the morning training, with the afternoon training available for other departmental Staff. It is reasonable to have 3rd floor Staff train together since an event of this type could affect our entire floor.

We extend our appreciation to County Counsel - Risk Analyst Office for coordination of this valuable training for County Staff.
