Memorandum
Date: January 25, 2022
To: The Honorable Lake County Board of Supervisors
From: Todd Metcalf, MPA, Director Behavioral Health Services
Subject: Consideration of Resolutions of the Lake County Board of Supervisors Authorizing Acceptance of the County of Lake Competitive and Non-Competitive Allocation Award Under the No Place Like Home Program.
Executive Summary:
As the Board of Supervisors is aware, the County has been working towards creating permanent supportive living apartments at 6853 Collier Avenue in Nice in partnership with Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation (RCHDC). Funding for that project involves leveraging housing funds from the Mental Health Services Act and the No Place Like Home (NPLH) program, both obtained from the Behavioral Health Services department. Further, NPLH funding is also now available to add to the project and LCBHS, as the administrative entity for the Lake County Continuum of Care, is applying for this funding. There are two sources of NPLH funds: competitive and noncompetitive. These funds are to be used to house those with mental health conditions and include supportive services. The two Resolutions now before the Board will authorize LCBHS to apply for and receive these funds and enter into standard agreements for the use thereof.
