Subject: (a) Rescind incorrect MOU Between County of Lake and Lake County Resource Conservation District For Management of Goat's Rue in Lake County for FY 2020/2021 in the Amount of $60;000 approved on September 14, 2021 and (b) Approve correct MOU Between County of Lake and Lake County Resource Conservation District For Management of Goat's Rue in Lake County for FY 2021-2023 in the Amount of $21,041.12 as referenced in Resolution 2021-113, adopted on September 14, 2021, and authorize the Chair to sign
Executive Summary:
Our office was contacted by the Agriculture Department to advise of an error and asked for assistance in correcting a document that had previously been submitted to your Board for approval.
A Resolution and an MOU with the Lake County Conservation District came before your board on September 14, 2021 for the management of Goats Rue. The Resolution was adopted and the MOU approved but the MOU attached to the agenda item was an incorrect version from the previous year. The adopted Resolution approves/accepts the MOU with the Lake County Conservation District for the management of Goats Rue for period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023 and authorizes the Chair to sign the document. I am asking the Board to rescind the approved (incorrect) MOU from September 14, 2021 and approve the correct MOU.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has identified Goats rue as an "A" rated weed. An "A" rating is a pest of known economic or environmental detriment and is either not known to be established in California or it is present in a limited distribution that allows for the possibility of eradication or successful containment.
