From: Scott DeLeon, Water Resources Director and Jordan Beaton, Program Coordinator
Subject: (Sitting as the Lake County Watershed Protection District) Approve a Purchase Order for the Purchase of Equipment Outlined in Exhibit A for District levee and Highland Springs vegetation maintenance, and authorize the Water Resources Director/Assistant Purchasing Agent to sign the Purchase Orders
Executive Summary:
Earlier in this meeting, your Board, serving as the Board of Directors of the Watershed Protection District ("District"), modified the adopted FY 22/23 budget for the District to provide an appropriation for the purchase of needed supplies outlined in the attached Exhibit A. The funding for this equipment is provided by the unexpected revenues sourced from the County Department of Agriculture to be used on invasive plant management. The equipment in Exhibit A are necessary capital assets that will greatly improve the District's ability to effectively manage invasive vegetation on the County Levee system and in Highland Springs Recreation Area, which are both managed by the District.
Two of the vendors for these purchases used Sourcewell to secure a price quotation for the equipment. Price quotes have been obtained by staff for the remaining three vendors. The equipment outlined in Exhibit A will be purchased through Budget Unit 8109 - Watershed Protection District for an estimated total price of $110,000 which includes sales tax and installation. A copy of the quotes are attached in Exhibit B.
The use of Sourcewell meets the requirements of Ordinance #2406, Purchasing Code No. 38.4 Cooperative Purchases.
