Lake County selected Workday as the county's new Enterprise Resource Planning/Human Capital Management (ERP/HCM) software. Workday is a robust software that offers a bevy of options when it comes to financial and human resource configuration.
The county's current software has not been replaced in almost 25 years, and the Auditor-Controller, Treasurer-Tax Collector, and Human Resources departments have developed a variety of procedures throughout the years which ensure that proper internal controls are in place, and that our various systems accurately reflect the data we use for reporting.
Every year, the county is audited per governmental requirements. Our current external auditors, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA), also offer consulting services on ERP/HCM implementations which, for us, adds a level of assurance to our implementation. We are ensuring that our new software is being configured in a manner that meets audit requirements while also modernizing our capabilities.
CLA has offered professional services such as providing recommendations for Workday chart of accounts structure, state reporting configurations, and accounting report designs. Additionally, CLA is reviewing our current state of affairs so necessary components of our current structure are properly translated into Workday's structure to ensure that we can maintain accurate, timely, and compliant financial, state, and federal reporting.
